Commissioned on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Willen Hospice and funded by a grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, this short documentary film looks back over the past 40 years from when the Hospice first opened its doors in the early 80s.
The film celebrates how a community came together to make the dream of a local Hospice into a reality, and how it has grown to become one of Milton Keynes’ best-loved charities, helping countless families over the years. Featuring interviews with key people from the Hospice and voices from the community the film explores how palliative care has changed over the last four decades, the experiences of people cared for by the Hospice, its partnerships with the local community and how the Hospice will grow in the future to be there to care for the growing community of Milton Keynes.
Produced by Willen Hospice in partnership with Living Archive MK. The screening will be followed by a Q&A.
