26 - 27 November 2021
Imagine an empty city, with only 161 permanent residents in it. Newly planted trees line the miles of almost empty roads. Everything is almost clinically pristine, purposeful and planned for these people and their families. But something is bubbling away, it’s the beginning of a community of people. Who will they be? What will they do? And how will they shape this city?
This dance and film piece questions the role of art and the role that people play within the infrastructure of the city. It explores how the inhabitants transform cities from empty shells into living, breathing homes and bring an ebb and flow to the once empty architecture.
The installation will be an intimate experience combining film, recorded sound with intermittent live dance performance inspired by Milton Keynes and the people who live, work and play here.
Installation and performance by dancer and choreographer Olivia Thynne inspired by people and places of Milton Keynes.
