This May, MK Gallery launches Art and Us, a new programme of stimulating and enjoyable art activities for families with children aged 5+ with complex needs.
Beginning on Sunday 6 May at 10.30am, these weekly two hour sessions will enable families to work directly with an artist to explore their creative interests. Family members will be able to enjoy spending time together in an environment which is creative, accessible, fun and understanding of everyone’s needs.
Bethany Mitchell, Curator of Inclusion at MK Gallery said: “Art and Us offers an incredibly exciting creative programme for families with children with complex needs. These weekly Sunday sessions will create valuable opportunities for family groups to work together, alongside an artist, and to expand upon their interests through open ended, responsive activity. Both myself and our team of Art and Us Associate Artists are thrilled to meet more of our local families and to explore, play and learn alongside each other in a safe and stimulating environment which will be shaped by us all.”
Sessions cost £5 per family and can be booked by contacting Bethany Mitchell on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01908 558 319.
The programme is generously supported by Paul Hamlyn Foundation and MK Community Foundation.
