Key Stages 3-5, Painting in Virtual Reality

Cost: £9 per pupil (Minimum charge £270).

Dates: Available Wednesdays and Thursdays, between 9am – 1pm.  From 12 October 2019 – 26 January 2020 and 15 February – 25th May 2020 only. Excludes school and bank holidays.

Duration: 3 ½ hours

Experience the wonders of painting in virtual reality with MK Gallery and our neighbours at Vertigo VR, the only Virtual Reality Centre in the UK offering room scale and motion virtual reality experiences.

After arriving at MK Gallery, pupils will head next door to Vertigo VR where they will experiment with the latest digital technology inspiring painters today.  They’ll have an exciting opportunity to create their own virtual reality painting and enter them into MK Young Painter – a competition for young artists aged 4-19 to uncover new possibilities for painting. Find out about Young Painter here. Find out more about Vertigo VR here.

This experience is coupled with a tour of the latest exhibition at MK Gallery. Here, pupils will be supported by a Learning Scout to explore, analyse and discuss the paintings on display. Pupils will finish the session with a debrief exploring the relationship between painting and digital technologies.
