Work, Life & Women in the Arts - National Work Life Week 2019
National Work Life Week 2019 is taking place from 7 – 11 October 2019. The week is an opportunity for both employers and employees to focus on wellbeing at work and work life balance.
To mark National Work Life Week 2019, MK Gallery is delighted to share, for the first time, Work, Life & Women in the Arts – an inspirational short film about being creative and choosing a career that lets you do what you love.
With contributions from creative professionals across theatre, fashion, photography, media and business, the film has been produced especially for young women thinking about the possibility of creative career.
The film was commissioned by MK Gallery in collaboration with the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design, the education arm of Vogue publisher, Condé Nast International; and Of Our Own, an online platform about feminism and gender equality created by teens for teens. It is directed by award-winning filmmaker and photographer, Jam Patel.
The film was created as part of The Work Life Project, designed especially for young women in Milton Keynes to address the gender and racial gaps prevalent in the UK creative industries. The Work Life Project took place at MK Gallery during summer 2019 and was supported by MK Community Foundation with funding from their Tampon Tax Community Fund.
