Throughout 2018, the Project Space continues to play host to a programme of City Club related exhibitions which purposefully set out to connect artists and audiences in a conversation that promotes ownership, civic pride and the importance of ‘place’.

Central Milton Keynes is dominated by a large indoor shopping centre sited amongst a mix of business, leisure and living facilities. The centralised urban layout provides the stimuli for January’s exhibition presented by Motus Dance. Included are a series of photographs and video works which explore the physical interaction with, and impact of, our built environment and Motus’ response to these spaces through dance.

The exhibition marks the launch of Room to Move – a City Club project delivered in partnership between Motus Dance, MK Youth Faculty and MK Gallery. A dance exchange developed in response MK’s urban setting focuses on young people and their ownership of public space. A series of sessions with Youth Faculty participants follows the exhibition inviting young people to consider their physical relationship to the spaces they inhabit.
