Creative Poetic Hotpot promises to be an interactive creative cookbook – where Malika entices writers to try a variety of fun and exciting recipes in order to stimulate new poems. We will brainstorm, write, play, discuss, draw, and use drama games as stimulus. This workshop is suitable for beginning poets wanting to kickstart their writing through to intermediate poets hoping to find fresh approaches.

Film for Foodies

2 - 23 August 2022

In these workshops, young people will be given a safe space to network and make friends. Working with MK Gallery Learning Scouts and staff from Milton Keynes Council Youth Services, they will explore world food and nutrition through fun games and activities. They will then have lunch and watch a film in MK Gallery’s Sky Room Cinema, supervised by the Youth Services team.

Join photographer Muna Ally in a workshop exploring the art of seeing inspired by our Vivian Maier exhibition.

Muna Ally is an artist and founder of The Kanga Project; a charity initiative celebrating women with gifts of Kanga in Zanzibar. Using her unique perspective as a Muslim female photographer, Ally focuses on amplifying the voices of communities through visual media. Through her documentary works, Ally has successfully brought together a multitude of people worldwide for various charitable causes; with the aim to inspire to utilise creativity for social change.
