Euan Uglow – Slow Looking

Exhibition Events

11 April 2026

In celebration of national Slow Art Day 2026, MK Gallery are hosting a special slow looking event in our galleries, in collaboration with local artist and illustrator Gino Ballantyne.

Exploring several key pieces from Euan Uglow: An Arc from the Eye, your experience of Slow Looking will deepen as Gino encourages you to explore art through your own eyes, senses and experiences. You will spend time observing, discussing, sharing and sketching (optional).

Gino Ballantyne is a contemporary Scottish artist born in Malta. Gino’s work focuses on the human condition, exploring narratives of the ordinary and the terrible. Although the human figure is not always present in his work it is both suggested and connected and plays a central role. Gino studied at The Glasgow School of Art, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Oxford Brookes University and University of the Arts London, and has exhibited nationally and internationally.

March 2026 will see the publication of author Robert Cumming and Gino Ballantyne’s new book “Seeing is Believing” from their Slow Looking series published by The Lutterworth Press.
